Congratulations to Winners of last night’s NSB Food Festival Best on the Beach contest.  Best American Fare: 1st Place-Lil’ Neal’s Beef Brisket Slider; 2nd Place-Best Western’s Mango Key-Lime Shooter; 3rd Place-Live Oak Cafe’s Black Beans with Couscous. Best International Fare: Flagler Tavern’s Ceviche; 2nd Place-Gnarly’s World Spice Flat Iron Steak Salad; 3rd Place-Yellow Dog Eats’ Hokey Pokey Taco.

A special thank you to our Chief Judge, Spanish River Grill’s Chef Henry Salgado and our guest judges, Stephanie, Michelle McCoy, Red Zepplin and David Sweat.  This year’s Best on the Beach competition was a blind tasting.  Thank you to Southern Stone who provided all the food runners to make this possible!

The 2015 New Smyrna Beach Food Festival will take place Thursday, April 16 from 5pm to 9pm on Flagler Avenue Beachside off the North Causeway from US 1/Ridgewood. The festival showcases scores of local restaurants selling tastes of their best dishes at “sample-size prices” from $3 to $5. The Festival is designed to allow guests to stroll the avenue and enjoy tastes of sumptuous food from multiple restaurants.

The restaurants will be competing for New Smyrna Beach’s “Best on the Beach” awards in two categories, “Best American Fare” and “Best International Fare”. The judges represent the local food industry and community stakeholders.

In addition to the food booths, the festival offers local artisans, live entertainment inside host sponsor locations, venders, sponsor displays and exhibits. Flagler Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic accommodate the festival from Pine Street to S. Atlantic.

Entertainment locations include Flagler Tavern, Clancy’s Cantina, Om Bar & Chill Lounge, Peanuts Restaurant and Sports Bar, Toni & Joe’s Patio and Trader’s Sports Pub and more.

Parking is plentiful throughout the Flagler Avenue arts-entertainment-shopping district on pocket parking lots, side streets and lots behind many of the businesses.
